THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR
El REINO DE LOS CIELOS ESTÁ CERCA
As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. (Matthew 10:7-8)
(Mateo 10:7-8)
Satan: Our Great Adversary (Has-Sathan)
The Congregation of Yahweh believes, teaches and preaches about our adversary Satan as follows: Satan is a being which is known as the devil, ancient serpent, opponent or adversary (also known as the evil one, Lucifer, Dragon, Serpent, the Father of Sin/Lies, the Ruler of this World, the Deceiver, the Enemy, Accuser, the god of this World).
-
Satan is subject in time and space, and cannot be in 2 places at the same time.
-
At the beginning he was an angel of light called Lucifer.
-
He is a real being; he’s not a myth .
-
He is the enemy of Yahweh and his people.
-
He introduced sin into the world .His work is to deceive and entrap humans into sin, so it is advised to resist him and to not give him a place in our lives at any time.
-
His end is already designated. The Scriptures tell us that he will be destroyed with his followers in the Lake of Fire with his angles, a little before the Great White Throne Judgment is held.
-
He is a deceiver.
-
He is not omnipotent (all-powerful, invincible, supreme, almighty); he cannot hear the mind of a soul; the thoughts, but he can put thoughts such as lies, fear, negativity, hate, etc., into the minds as a bait to destroy if and when we believe take action.
-
He is the total opposite of Holiness and good – he is wick, bad, evil, corrupt, immoral, a liar, hateful, slanders, deceives, teaches falsely and ensnares humans against the Word of Yahweh and His Beloved Son, Yahshua the Messiah in which Salvation is found, and does not sleep or rest to do evil in which he delights.
The Writings leave no doubts about the existence of a malignant (evil, spiteful, malicious, menacing, wicked, nasty, vindictive, cruel, mean, cancerous, harmful), supernatural and spiritual being that’s against the work of the Eternal, possessing (owning, holding, controlling, dominating, influencing, have power over) unbelieving and skeptic (doubting) humans and (continually) trying to influence believers so that they act against the will of the Almighty (Job 1:6-11;) Matthew 4:11; Ephesians 2:1-3; John 13:2-3; 1 Peter 5:8; Acts 5:3). Those who reject (cast-off, refuse, disallow) the existence of a malignant, supernatural being do so because they do not have the same belief on this point (they do not believe he exist-real).
-
Job 1:6-11 6It happened one day that the sons of Yahweh came to serve YAHWEH, and among them came the Adversary. 7YAHWEH asked the Adversary, “Where are you coming from?” The Adversary answered YAHWEH, “From roaming through the earth, wandering (drifting, walking, roaming) here and there.” 8YAHWEH asked the Adversary, “Did you notice my servant Iyov, (Job) that there’s no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man who fears The Most High and shuns (avoids, rejects, turn away from) evil?” 9The Adversary answered YAHWEH, “Is it for nothing that Iyov (Job) fears Yahweh? 10You’ve put a protective hedge (border, enclose, encircle, barricade, fence, guard against) around him, his house and everything he has. You’ve prospered his work, and his livestock are spread out all over the land. 11But if you reach out your hand and touch whatever he has, without doubt he’ll curse you to your face!”
-
Matthew 4:11 Then the Adversary let him (Yahshua) alone, and angels came and took care of him.
-
Ephesians 2:1-3 You used to be dead because of your sins and acts of disobedience. 2You walked in the ways of the ‘olam hazeh (this world) and obeyed the Ruler of the Powers of the Air, who is still at work among the disobedient. 3Indeed, we all once lived this way — we followed the passions (desires, lusts, outburst, fits, tempers, wraths, obsessions, infatuations, excitements, enthusiasms, delights, emotions, and zeal-intensity) of our old nature and obeyed the wishes of our old nature and our own thoughts. In our natural condition we were headed for Yahweh’s wrath (anger), just like everyone else.
-
John 13:2-3 2They were at supper, and the Adversary had already put the desire to betray (deceive, hand over) him into the heart (emotion, core, sentiment, mind, soul) of Y’hudah (Judas Iscariot) Ben-Shim‘on (the son of Simon Iscariot).from K’riot (Kerioth). 3Yahshua was aware that the Father had put everything in his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God.
-
1 Peter 5:8 Stay sober (clear-headed), stay alert (attentive, watchful, prepared, aware, vigilant, ready, ready to act, on red alert)! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks (tracks, pursues, shadows, hunts, tails, lurks, prowls) about like a roaring (snarling, active, thriving) lion looking for someone to devour (consume, demolish, overwhelm, overcome, consume, destroy, demolish, eat greedily, dispose of).
-
Acts 5:3 Then Kefa (Peter) said (to Ananias), “Why has the Adversary so filled your heart that you lie to the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) and keep back some of the money you received for the land?
-
The Sacred Writings tell us that most of our adversary’s objective is to kill, steal, destroy and deceive human beings that dwell on the face of the earth (John 10:10; 1 John 3:8, 12; 5:19). The work that Yahshua came to perform here on earth goes against Satan since Scripture say that "he must be cast out" (John 12:31). In reality, Yahshua already defeated Satan and although he still conserves (maintains) some domain (territory, realm) in the world, he will ultimately remain completely annihilated (defeated, crushed) as it says in Revelation 20:1-10, 15.
-
John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.
-
1 John 3:8 The person who keeps on sinning is from the Adversary, because from the very beginning the Adversary has kept on sinning. It was for this very reason that the Son of Yahweh appeared, to destroy these doings of the Adversary.
-
1 John 3:12 and not be like Kayin (Cane), who was from the Evil One and murdered his own brother. Why did he murder him? Because his own actions (dealings, behaviors, deeds, conducts, acts) were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.
-
1 John 5:19 We know that we are from Yahweh, and that the whole world lies (rests, remains, stays, keeps) in the power of the Evil One.
-
John 12:31 Now is the time for this world to be judged (tried, evaluated, appraised, ranked), now the ruler of this world will be expelled (disqualified, excluded, ejected, banished, driven out, fired, forced out, push out, eliminated).
-
Revelation 20:1-10 Next I saw an angel coming down from heaven, who had the key to the Abyss (a deep or seemingly bottomless chasm-void, deep hole, gulf-gap, pit, prison) and a great chain in his hand. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan [the Adversary], and chained him up for a thousand years. 3He threw him into the Abyss, locked it and sealed it over him; so that he could not deceive the nations any more until the thousand years were over. After that, he has to be set free for a little while. 4Then I saw thrones, and those seated on them received authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for testifying about Yahshua and proclaiming the Word of Yahweh, also those who had not worshipped the beast or its image and had not received the mark on their foreheads and on their hands. They came to life and ruled with the Messiah for a thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is anyone who has a part in the first resurrection; over him the second death has no power. On the contrary, they will be cohanim (priests) of Yahweh and of the Messiah, and they will rule with him for the thousand years. 7 When the thousand years are over, the Adversary will be set free from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog (Gog is a chief prince of Meshekh (Meshech) and Tuval (Tubal) from the land of Magog. Read Ezekiel 38:1-3) the satanic powers who wage war against Yahweh and the righteous at the end of the world), to gather them for the battle. Their number is countless as the sand on the seashore; 9and they came up over the breadth of the Land and surrounded the camp of Yahweh’s people and the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them. 10The Adversary who had deceived them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
-
Revelation 20:15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was hurled into the lake of fire.
Scriptural Foundation or Basis
-
Satan is a spiritual being. Job 1:6, 12 6It happened one day that the sons of Yahweh came to serve Yahweh, and among them came the Adversary. 12 Yahweh said to the Adversary, “Here! Everything he has is in your hands, except that you are not to lay a finger on his person.” Then the Adversary went out from the presence of Yahweh.
-
The inventor or the father of lies. John 8:44 You belong to your father, Satan, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. From the start he was a murderer, and he has never stood by the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he is speaking in character; because he is a liar — indeed, the inventor of the lie!
-
He puts bad thoughts . Juan 13:2 They were at supper, and the Adversary had already put the desire to betray him (Yahshua) into the heart of Y’hudah (Judas Iscariot) Ben-Shim‘on (the son of Simon Iscariot) from K’riot (Kerioth). Lucas 4:41 also demons came out of many, crying, “You are the Son of Yahweh!” But, rebuking them, he did not permit them to say that they knew he was the Messiah. Lucas 8:2 and a number of women who had been healed from evil spirits and illnesses — Miryam (called Magdalit Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out;
-
He blinds the hearts. 2 Corinthians 4:4 They do not come to trust because the god of the‘olam hazeh (this world) has blinded their minds, in order to prevent them from seeing the light shining from the Good News about the glory of the Messiah, who is the image of Yahweh.
-
He clogs, blocks, and obstructs the servants of Yahweh. 1 Thessalonians 2:18 We wanted so much to come to you — I, Sha’ul (Paul), tried more than once — but the Adversary stopped us. Matthew 16:23 But Yahshua turned his back on Kefa (Peter), saying, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because your thinking is from a human perspective, not from Yahweh’s perspective!”
-
He tempts us and is the accuser of the servants of Yahweh. Luke 4:12-14 12Yahshua answered him, “It also says, ‘Do not put Yahweh your Elohim (God) to the test.’” 13When the Adversary had ended all his testings, he let him alone until an opportune time. 14Yahshua returned to the Galil (Galilee) in the power of the Spirit, and reports about him spread throughout the countryside. Zechariah 3:1 He showed me Y’hoshua (Joshua) the cohen hagado (high priest) standing before the angel of Yahweh (the angel of Yahweh is Yahshua, the Messiah), with the Accuser standing at his right to accuse him.
-
He presents himself to Yahweh to accuse us and to show Yahweh that without His protection, we would curse (belittle, mock, ridicule, sneer, criticize, scorn) Yahweh and he also serves Yahweh’s divine purpose and to test us.
Job 1:6-12 6It happened one day that the sons of Yahweh (angels) came to serve Yahweh, and among them came the Adversary. 7 Yahweh asked the Adversary, “Where are you coming from?” The Adversary answered Yahweh, “From roaming through the earth, wandering here and there.”8 Yahweh asked the Adversary, “Did you notice my servant Iyov (Job), that there’s no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man who fears Yahweh and shuns evil?” 9The Adversary answered Yahweh, “Is it for nothing that Iyov (Job) fears The Most High? 10You’ve put a protective hedge around him, his house and everything he has. You’ve prospered his work, and his livestock are spread out all over the land. 11 But if you reach out your hand and touch whatever he has, without doubt he’ll curse you to your face!” 12 Yahweh said to the Adversary, “Here! Everything he has is in your hands, except that you are not to lay a finger on his person.” Then the Adversary went out from the presence of Yahweh. Job 2:1-10 Another day came when the sons of Yahweh came to serve Yahweh, and among them came the Adversary to serve Yahweh. 2Yahweh asked the Adversary, “Where are you coming from?” The Adversary answered Yahweh, “From roaming through the earth, wandering here and there.” 3Yahweh asked the Adversary, “Did you notice my servant Iyov, (Job) that there’s no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man who fears The Most High and shuns evil, and that he still holds on to his integrity, even though you provoked me against him to destroy him for no reason?” 4The Adversary answered Yahweh, “Skin for skin! A person will give up everything he has to save his life. 5But if you reach out your hand and touch his flesh and bone, without doubt he’ll curse you to your face!” 6 Yahweh said to the Adversary, “Here! He is in your hands, except that you are to spare his life.” 7Then the Adversary went out from the presence of Yahweh and struck Iyov (Job) down with horrible infected sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. 8He took a piece of a broken pot to scratch himself and sat down in the pile of ashes. 9His wife asked him, “Why do you still hold on to your integrity? Curse Yahweh, and die!” 10But he answered her, “You’re talking like a low-class woman! Are we to receive the good at Yahweh’s hands but reject the bad?” In all this Iyov (Job) did not say one sinful word.
-
He snatches the seed. Matthew 13:25, 29 (24-30) 24Yahshua put before them another parable. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25but while people were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, then went away. 26When the wheat sprouted and formed heads of grain, the weeds also appeared. 27The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ 28He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants asked him, ‘Then do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29But he said, ‘No, because if you pull up the weeds, you might uproot some of the wheat at the same time. 30Let them both grow together until the harvest; and at harvest-time I will tell the reapers (the angles of Yahweh are the harvesters) to collect the weeds first and tie them in bundles to be burned, but to gather the wheat into my barn.’” Luke 8:12 12The ones along the path are those who hear, but then the Adversary comes and takes the message out of their hearts, in order to keep them from being saved by trusting it.
-
He sifts (examine, select, scrutinizes-studies), shake up (shake, stir up, ill-treat, maltreat, rattle, knock, hit, beat) the children of Yahweh. Luke 22:31 31 “Shim‘on, Shim‘on, (Simon, Simon) listen! The Adversary demanded to have you people for himself, to sift (examine, scrutinize) you like wheat!
-
He cannot be given a way, any room, or an opening. Ephesians 4:27 (25-27) 25 Therefore, stripping off falsehood, let everyone speak truth with his neighbor, because we are intimately related to each other as parts of a body. 26Be angry, but don’t sin — don’t let the sun go down before you have dealt with the cause of your anger; 27otherwise you leave room (an opportunity) for the Adversary.
-
We must resist him (fight, battle against him, defy him, oppose him, counterattack him, fight back). James 4:7 (8-12) 7Therefore, submit to Yahweh. Moreover, take a stand against the Adversary, and he will flee from you. 8Come close to Yahweh, and he will come close to you. Clean your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (unstable in their ways) people! 9Wail, mourn, sob! Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into gloom! 10Humble yourselves before the Yahshua, and he will lift you up. 11Brothers, stop speaking against each other! Whoever speaks against a brother or judges a brother is speaking against Torah (teachings, Law – 5 books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy) and judging Torah. And if you judge Torah, you are not a doer of what Torah says, but a judge. 12There is but one Giver of Torah; he is also the Judge, with the power to deliver and to destroy. Who do you think you are, judging your fellow human being? 2 Chronicles 5:8 8For the k’ruvim (cherubims) spread out their wings over the place for the ark, covering the ark and its poles from above.
-
We cannot ignore his plots (conspiracies, plans, schemes, strategies). 2 Corinthians 2:11 (9-10) 9The reason I wrote you was to see if you would pass the test, to see if you would fully obey me. 10Anyone you forgive, I forgive too. For indeed, whatever I have forgiven, if there has been anything to forgive, has been for your sake in the presence of the Messiah 11so that we will not be taken advantage of by the Adversary — for we are quite aware of his schemes (patterns, systems, plans, methods, ideas)!
-
We must have victory over him and conquer him. Ephesians 6:11-17 11Use all the armor and weaponry that Yahweh provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary. 12For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic (celestial evil beings-angles, demons) powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. 13So take up every piece of war equipment Yahweh provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist; and when the battle is won, you will still be standing. 14Therefore, stand! Have the belt of truth buckled around your waist, put on righteousness for a breastplate, 15and wear on your feet the readiness that comes from the Good News of shalom (peace). 16Always carry the shield of trust (faith, hope, belief, conviction, confidence, reliance), with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the Evil One. 17And take the helmet of deliverance (release, liberation, rescue, relief, escape, freedom, delivery); along with the sword given by the Spirit (Life-force, Essence, Nature, Personality, Character, Soul, Strength-Power, Courage, Will, Force, Heart, Moral fiber of Yahweh), that is, the Word of Yahweh; 18as you pray at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, in the Spirit, vigilantly (watchfully, alertly, guardedly, carefully, attentively) and persistently (determinedly, insistently, continually, constantly, repeatedly, again and again, tirelessly, patiently, unceasingly) for all Yahweh’s people.
-
We receive deliverance toward Eternal Life by the Blood of Yahshua the Messiah. Hebrews 2:13-15 13Also, “I will put my trust in him, . . .” and then it goes on, “Here I am, along with the children Yahweh has given me.” 14Therefore, since the children share a common physical nature as human beings, he became like them and shared that same human nature; so that by his death he might render (reduce, judge) ineffective (unsuccessful, unproductive, useless) the one who had power over death (that is, the Adversary) 15and thus set free those who had been in bondage (captivity, slavery, oppression, burden) all their lives because of their fear of death.
-
In the last days, many will fall into doctrines and teachings taught by evil spirits of Satan. 1 Timothy 4:1 The Spirit expressly states that in the acharit-hayami (end of days) some people will apostatize (renounce the belief or principle of the Good News) from the faith by paying attention to deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (in NIV version) The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
-
Sadly, the disobedient are children of Satan. Acts 13:10-11 10“You son of Satan, full of fraud and evil! You enemy of everything good! Won’t you ever stop making crooked the straight paths of the Yahweh? 11So now, look! The hand of the Yahweh is upon you; and for a while you will be blind, unable to see the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over Elymas (the sorcerer and that’s also what his name means); and he groped about, trying to find someone to lead him by the hand.
-
We must choose Yahweh Yahshua or Satan; we cannot serve both. 1 Corinthians 10:20-21 20No, what I am saying is that the things which pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice not to Yahweh but to demons; and I don’t want you to become sharers of the demons! 21You can’t drink both a cup of the Yahshua and a cup of demons, you can’t partake (participate, share, contribute, assist, join, involve yourself in, take part) in both a meal of the Yahshua and a meal of demons.
-
He was cast out of Heaven, Yahweh’s Kingdom. Revelation 12:11-13 11“They defeated him because of the Lamb’s blood and because of the message of their witness. Even when facing death they did not cling to life. 12“Therefore, rejoice, heaven and you who live there! But woe to you, land and sea, for the Adversary has come down to you, and he is very angry, because he knows that his time is short!” 13When the dragon saw that he had been hurled (thrown, flung, tossed) down to the earth, he went in pursuit of the woman who had given birth to the male child. Luke 10:18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
-
He deceived and continues to deceive the entire world. Revelation 12:9 The great dragon was thrown out, that ancient serpent, also known as the Devil and Satan [the Adversary], the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 14There is nothing surprising in that, for the Adversary himself masquerades as an angel of light; 15so it’s no great thing if his workers masquerade as servants of righteousness. They will meet the end their deeds deserve.
-
He moves around, wandering, exploring around the earth deceitfully pacifying, appeasing, soothing, and falsely calming humanity. Job 1:7 7 Yahweh asked the Adversary, “Where are you coming from?” The Adversary answered Yahweh, “From roaming through the earth, wandering here and there.”
-
He dominates the evil unseen authorities. Ephesians 6:12-14 12For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. 13So take up every piece of war equipment Yahweh provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist (fight, battle, counterattack, fight back, challenge, stand firm, refuse to accept, refuse to go along with); and when the battle is won, you will still be standing. 14Therefore, stand! Have the belt of truth buckled around your waist, put on righteousness for a breastplate, 15and wear on your feet the readiness that comes from the Good News of shalom (peace).
-
He will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20:9-15 9and they came up over the breadth of the Land (and they will march all the way across the earth) and surrounded the camp of Yahweh’s people and the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them. 10The Adversary who had deceived them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. 11Next I saw a great white throne and the One sitting on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, both great and small, standing in front of the throne. Books were opened; and another book was opened, the Book of Life; and the dead were judged from what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13The sea gave up the dead in it; and Death (Mortality) and Sh’ol (Grave) gave up the dead in them; and they were judged, each according to what he had done. 14Then Death and Sh’ol were hurled into the lake of fire. This is the second death — the lake of fire. 15Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was hurled into the lake of fire.
-
Authority given to the believers. Luke 10:17,19 17The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Yahshua, even the demons submit to us in your name.” (Yahshua said…), 19Remember, I have given you authority; so you can trample down snakes and scorpions, indeed (without a doubt), all the Enemy’s forces; and you will remain completely unharmed. Romans 16:20 And Yahweh, the source of Shalom (peace), will soon crush the Adversary under your feet.
-
We cannot be glad that the spirits submit, but be glad that our name is written in the book of life. Luke 10:20 Nevertheless (On the other hand), don’t be glad that the spirits submit to you; be glad that your names have been recorded in heaven.
-
Yahshua filled with the Power of Yahweh in JOY thanking the Heavenly Father for this revelation. Luke 10:21 At that moment he was filled with joy by the Ruach HaKodesh (the Spirit, Holy Spirit of Yahweh-His Power, His Presence) and said, “Father, the Sovereign (supreme, matchless, self-governing, ruler, king, emperor) of heaven and earth, I thank you because you concealed these things from the sophisticated and educated, yet revealed them to ordinary people. Yes, Father, I thank you that it pleased you to do this.
Satan works continuously to hinder the work of the Eternal and thus cause enmity (hostility, bad feelings) between Yahweh and his servants.
Make a mental note that while Yahweh builds through Yahshua and his Power, Satan destroyed using all means deceptive and disappointments.
Yahweh builds and Satan destroys
